An evening on Sharavati

In 2008 we went to attend Jnanesh's marriage at Kumta. While the entire gang returned to Hosad by Van, Ganesh and I decided to join Giridhar maam and Hari bappa in Vittaldasanna's car. We reached Honnavar at about 4.30, had a cuppa tea and hurried to catch the dingi for Hosad. What we got to see wasn't something we had imagined or expected (what are the chances that you time a speeding train on the brigde, by boat?)...

Teru - 2007

In 2007 I got a chance to take a long vacation and attend teru. It was a visit after more than a decade, so just the thought of seeing the place where I used to spend most of my summer vacation in school, was an exhilarating experience. Here are few snaps..

Teru

Mukhyaprana Laxmi Venkatesh temple's teru (chariot) got renovated in 2008. Here are few snaps BEFORE the renovation. Next time I get to go to Hosad I will get pictures of new teru :-)

Paradise on earth!

Hosad is a beeaaauutiful piece of nature off Honnavar in North Canara district. River Sharavati flows around a bunch of islands (Balkur, Mavinakurva, Molkod..) forming one of the heavenly backwaters of Karnataka.
